The EU STEM Coalition was requested to participate in the Executive Roundtable on "Europe's Opportunity to Lead the Digital Race: Envisioning the Workforce of the Future". The event took place in the margins of the 2018 edition of the European Business Summit.

Objective of the meeting: 

This Roundtable aimed to:

 

  • Explore ways to manage the “smart future” that lies ahead of us, in which processes are automatised and human intervention is complemented or even replaced;
  • Address possibilities to close the skills gap, which is expected to grow even further; and to reflect on Europe’s capability to become a leader in the digital race.
Description: 

The EU STEM Coalition was requested to participate in the Executive Roundtable on "Europe's Opportunity to Lead the Digital Race: Envisioning the Workforce of the Future". The event, hosted by the Project Management Institute, took place in the margins of the 2018 edition of the European Business Summit. The event was organised as a closed event with a maximum of 35 participants (invitation only) from government, industry and relevant stakeholders under 'Chatam House rules' (no comments were attributed to individual participants / organisations). 

 

The event focused on two key topics (see above) with particular attention for the impact technological advances and the new Multiannual Financial Framework. A report was publised after the meeting summarising the key findings of the debate (see meeting documents).
