Engineering and computing education in the Large Language Model era
The 2026 IEEE Frontiers in Education Conference will bring together educators, researchers and practitioners to explore developments shaping the future of engineering and computing education.
This year’s theme, Engineering and Computing Education in the Large Language Model Era, puts the impact of large language models and artificial intelligence on education at the centre of the discussion. The conference provides an international forum for sharing research, educational practice and new approaches across engineering and computing disciplines.
The programme includes peer-reviewed full and work-in-progress papers, pre-conference workshops, panels and special sessions. Together, these formats provide space to examine emerging educational challenges, connect research with practice and discuss how teaching and learning may evolve as AI technologies become increasingly embedded in education.
The Frontiers in Education Conference has been organised since 1971 and is co-sponsored by the IEEE Education Society, IEEE Computer Society and ASEE Educational Research and Methods Division.
Formerly co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union
