Talkshow
We started off with a live talkshow on the contribution of industry, education, and government towards the betterment of STEM education. Our speakers included Mervi Asikainen, Hanne Deprez, Amaia Esquisabel Alegría, Victoria Cummings.
After the lively talkshow Matthew Coates gave an update on the activities of the EU STEM Coalition.
Presentations
After the morning sessions, there was a presentation on supporting STEM education in Ukraine during war time, by Nataliya Limonova, Chairwoman of the EdTech Ukraine Association.
Followed by a presentation of the Coalition’s communications team, who presented updates on the website, and an interactive session was held with members to discuss how we can further improve collaboration and communication within the network followed by a presentation on STEM education developments in the Netherlands.
In the afternoon all members were able to present their activities, key figures, focuses and highlights during the Poster Carousel.
On Day 2, we discussed the preparation of a position paper on the EU STEM strategy and explored ways to better support the learning community through the collection and use of both qualitative and quantitative data. Later in the programme, we exchanged thoughts on developing a comprehensive approach to be worked on ahead of the next General Assembly, scheduled for the second half of 2025.
With the STEM Education Strategy Plan now a part of the Union of Skills, it’s all hands on deck to elevate STEM education and boost the participation of girls in STEM across Europe.
